Latest experience...

Well, another newbie mistake!
I was swiping a thread out of the way and did you know that the needle will go all the way through your finger. :). Yes I am ok (and so is the quilt). Net time I see a stray thread it will just have to get picked out afterward.

The block quilt is for my nieces baby girl. I saw one online "somewhere" and I attempted to recreate it. I used two types of batting to make the non quilted spots really stand up.

The elephant is a quilt done by a lady I quilt with. I outlined the elephants, stipples in the open squares and stitch in the ditch around the star and main squares.

I think I might be getting better with SID, but I think freehand is my favorite.

Meet Lullabell...

This is a cute pattern that was purchased and a friend did the top. My job is the quilting... :)
A few days ago, I started making some adjustments with my machine and thought I had everything looking good. Rolled the top up and yep, you guessed it.... EYELASHES all over the back.
Darn it! I know that I'm suppose to check on that. Oh well! At least I have a stitch ripper that is comfortable to hold. :)

Another quilt beyond borders finished!

Just finished my second quilt for QBB. I just did my freehand hearts that I'm comfortably with. I thought that would go good since it is a pretty pink quilt. I have one more to finish before sending them off!

Safety first... Newbie mistake! Not for the weak at stomach

So, you know you can purchase safety glove so that when your cutting fabric you don't cut yourself. I thought that was the silliest thing. Really! What dummy would cut themselves? Well, you guessed it... ME!
So from now on, safety gloves for this girl!

First Stitch In The Ditch

My first attempt at SITD was, well... Ok!
I could seem to stay exactly in the ditch and couldn't ever figure out exactly why. It didn't turn out terrible but I can say I'm happy with it either.
One thing I think is my fat foot for my Voyager. It seems to drag on the seems of the quilt top and the needle doesn't seem to be in the center. With the needle not be I'm the center, it makes it hard to line the ruler up with the seem each time.
Going to try again so though. No way am I giving up. :)
