Quilting In Progress

Didn't get the posted earlier but I am finished with this sweet quilt for a customer and taking it off the frame.
Not sure if you can see but the feathers are butterflies also.

Also have been piecing a t-shirt quilt for another customer.
Just have to add a few borders for sizing and then this will be ready for quilting.

What an honor....

I didn't realize when I sponsored the QuiltFest that I would get to pick MY favorite quilt.
I walk through the quilt show room and it wasn't easy to choose.  But I truly believe every quilt has a story and that is what quilting is all about. It isn't just sewing fabric together.
So, MY winner is.....
This quilt made me tear up.  That is a winner in MY eyes!

Quilting In Progress...

In a mad rush to finish the new sample quilts for the booth this weekend, I have another variation of the AccuQuilt Flowerinf Snowball on the frame.
I am completely amazed the difference fabric choice makes in the way a quilt looks.  You can search my blog for the scrappy version made recently.  Doesn't even look like the same quilt.  When I have them on display this weekend, I will picture them side by side.
Here is an up close of the quilting design.  I love this.

Quilting is a gift

We all have our special gifts that I believe come from God. There's no doubt in my mind that one of my gifts is quilting. This is the quilt I had on the frame the other day.
While at work, a lady was telling me about her daughter who is in her early 20s and suffering from chronic pain.  The accident that caused this condition happen while this young lady was serving God herself. When I return home that evening I went to my quilt room and started working on this quilt just like any other day. I could not stop thinking about this young lady and her condition. I started praying for her healing and for her comfort. The more I quilted, the more I prayed and the more I realized this quilt was meant for this young lady.

God gives us all different gifts.  All are very important.

I will continue to pray for this young lady. My wish is that very one could figure out their gift from God and find a way to glorify others from that.

Quilting In Progress...

Oh wowzers!  Look or what I've got....
A customer brought me this beautiful double wedding ring and we all know they are my weakness.
Now let's see how Thelma is helping...
Look at the detail in this melon!  I love it but wait until you see the center block.
Yep!  I think me and Thelma are getting along just fine!

Can't wait to return this beauty to its owner.

Quilting In Progress...

So I took a minute to "play" with some designs on a quilt top I pieced when I first started.  Oh those unfinished quilt tops we all have. :)
Firs of all, does this look like a problem?
Yep, I only had this one spool that I bought for this quilt and ran out.  No biggie, I just used a solid black since I only had a few inches.  No one will notice since the front and the back are both busy.
This is a design concept that I got from a picture posted by my friends Dek'kt Out Quilting (they also long arm for the public).
It is a great way to add some customized quilting with a pantograph inside.  With a little more practice I think I will really like this.
