Another day of quilting and fun!

So I've been really busy yesterday and today! I Made some burp clothes for a friends an a baby shower and quilted two quilts.
The burp cloths in the picture aren't finished yet but I wanted to share what I have so far.
It's been a great two days and now I'm tired. Good night!

Day of practice...

So today I quilted a small quilt that I am going to hang on my wall. It was a total practice quilt and maybe give me something to compare to in years to come.

On two rows I free handed some really bad flowers... :). Oh well, you've got to start somewhere.

The other two rows I free handed some leaves. Although they are not perfect, they aren't to bad for a beginner. I have been doodling them a lot on paper and on my iPad. Guess doodling truly does help.

Tomorrow is back to my t-shirt quilts for a customer. Don't worry, when I quilt them I will use my signature technic for the moment, meandering. :)

So enjoying this journey!

Planning the next quilt...

Working on two t-shirt quilts for two sisters. They have played ball almost all their life and already have about twenty shirts and they are still in elementary school. Mom says, "Why wait, let them enjoy it now". I agree with mom!
So now the planning starts... Here is my fancy design layout.
I will start cutting tomorrow.

First completed customer quilt....

My customer and her mom made the top and back for her son. I think they did an amazing job. Quilting was done meandering style and I think it is just the right touch. (Good thing since it is the only thing I'm comfortable doing.). :)

Time break down:
22:09 - loading top
48:00 - loading back
1:21 - complete all loading and straightening
3:03 - finished quilting
3:13 - unpinning and removing stitches from sewing top to my leaders.... Ooops!
3:23 - Clean up edges and sewing room

Not bad for a beginner.

Now to pick students up for youth service at church. See ya later!

First Customer Quilt - Double sided TShirt

I am so excited.... I have my very first customer quilt and it is going great. I was completely honest with my customer letting her know that I am new to long arm quilting and the only pattern that I am comfortable with is free motion meandering. She was way ok with that and so here we go.
What I didn't know when I agreed was that she had T-shirts for both the front and the back. Well, 2-1/2 hours into quilting and I am excited to say that it looks great. Only about two more passes and I'm done. :)
Thanks for trusting me with your precious quilt!

Daddys Hunter and Mommys Quilter

Tre is working on his very own quilt. He spent about four hours in the woods hunting this morning, came in to eat breakfast and started cutting more of his squares for his quilt. How fun!
