So I work a full-time job as a Sr Sales Representative and have a wonderful family at home. I started quilting about four years ago on my DSM (domestic sewing machine). My great-grandmother started my love for quilting and when she passed away, I received about 20 of her quilt tops. I looked into having them quilted and was caught off guard by the cost. I decided that I could do that myself and went and bought a sewing machine for home use. After quilting a few I started looking into a longarm machine... again I was totally caught off guard by the cost. So I set that idea side for a while.
In the past few year, I have had some serious life changing moments including loosing my mother and resigning from a career that had became totally life consuming. I have done lots of searching for myself again and for becoming the wife and mother that my family deserves (they don't need me because they were making it just fine without me). :)
Fast forward to today... I have started back quilting and have purchased a longarm machine. I am having the time of my life with the support of my family. We are all hoping that soon my love and passion for quilting can become a business and I can be able to work at home all the time. That will be so nice.
Anyway, I don't know how well I will do updating the blog but I will try to give you the perspective of a working mom who loves to quilt.
Many blessings to you,
Rhonda K, Alabama
