Quilting In Progress....

Well, after two weeks of quilt shows I am finely back in my quilt room with another great customer quilt.  I can't wait to hear the story of this one.

It looks like old table cloths and napkins. Maybe grandmothers?  :)

Since the fabric is thicker than normal, I am doing an all over meandering.  Didn't want to much quilting to stiffen it up.

Well, back to quilting!

Quilting In Progress...

Or just finished. :). I'm not doing good with the "in progress" part lately.

This is a tshirt quilt just finished and it was a great project.

First of all, "mom" had held onto these shirts for her daughter who graduated in 2002.  She had always intended to have a quilt made but never did.  When "mom" dropped the shirts off, she made it a point to talk about some of them with me.  For me, that made this project very special.

I hope her daughter loves it as much as I do.

Quilting In Progress...

 Well, the quilting machine has been down for nearly a week over a 23 cent part.  Yep, I'm serious.  :). It cost a lot more to have it mailed.

So while I was waiting, I worked on a sweet tshirt quilt for a sweet customer.

Of course it isn't quilted yet but now it is ready to be.

Part arrived today so we will be back quilting tomorrow.  See ya then!

Oh check out this little cutie....

Cute quilt made by a client from old clothes.  This would be an awesome idea for baby clothes or any type of memory quilt.

She requested minimal quilting so we are SITD around the dresses and squares and stippling in the sashing and border.

Tumbler Memory Quilt

One of my passions is making memory quilts either from T-shirts or just old clothing.  It is a great way to help preserve and cherish someone we love.  Well this one is very special to me because it is of my father-in-laws clothing.  He was a retired sheriff's deputy and a Mr Tough Guy (really a big teddy bear).  :)

When decided on a design, I didn't want anything girly because of who he was and because of the fabric colors.  With that being said, I chose a Tumbler Block Quilt.

You know me, I'm all about using my AccuQuilt GO! So I used the GO! Tumbler- 6-1/2" (55020).  BTW, it's on sale at www.shop.stitchesnstories.com for 25% off.  

So here's a sneak peek.  It has the shirt that he and my mother-in-law got married in, his Hawaaii shirt from their vacation and even his deputy pants.

It was so easy to cut out all the tumblers and they are going together perfectly.  Can't wait to get it finished for my sweet mother in laws birthday.
